My gf told me my passenger side brake light didn't work every once in a while. Checked out the socket and the end of the bulb and the socket terminals were all melted together. Replaced the socket and bulb, good as new.

He's the type of kid who gets a (What he thinks is fast) Passat with the 1.8t and pulls up next to virtually anyone or anything then revs his engine to "race them". He blew the turbo in his first car a week into purchasing it, and apparently wants to do donuts in his fwd Pontiac G6.

On topic, I let the ZJ sit at home today while my brother and a couple of our friends took his Liberty out of town. His new BF Goodrich Rugged Terrain tires are pretty nice.

Nope....
It's just plain ****ing scary....
But I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to drive the RUST FREE '88 YJ on the salty, nasty roads instead....
So the ZJ had better just suck it up for 36 more hours!!!

Ripped apart the engine to replace intake gaskets and clean up the coolant leaks.

Now debating what to do about this:
temp-housing.jpg

Can I just paint it? Is there a good way to protect it from rusting out completely?

Take a steel brush and clean it up real good to get the loose rust off then take some naval jelly to remove the rest of the rust and paint it with either rust killer or rustoleum to keep it from doing it again

The absolute best rust proofing paint on the market is POR15 If it rusts out the only 2 choices you have are making a new one or trying to find a used one. You may also find something aftermarket but im not sure. They are no longer available from the dealer. Better check the one in the lower hose also.

I simply admired the simple 2.25" BB and 265/75R16 M/T's I put on a few days ago while I back flushed the heater core and took apart the DR door to figure out why I can hear the door look actuator working but it doesnt do anything. In the process I lost a spring from inside the latch. So, off to the JY in the morning for me.
