Possibly identified the steam coming from my defrost vents as a leaky heater core. Does anyone know how to change it out? Do I have to remove the entire dash?

The heater core pulls out the top of the HVAC box with the box still installed, so you only have to partially remove the dash (upper pad has to come off and maybe a few other things). Figure on a solid afternoon worth of work. Took me about 10 hours to do the heater core and A/C evap (needed to pull the whole dash and remove the HVAC box).

Sat in traffic next to a '14 Cherokee Trail Hawk. Besides the bigger tires it just looks like any other "cute ute" on the road. I'll keep my ZJ.

I would take the Trail Hawk over the ZJ any day if I were offered a choice between the two for free.

Dash has to be 90% removed, drop the steering column, heater box has to be un bolted from the firewall, AC lines have to be disconnected or very carefully fished through the firewall. You dont have to remove the heater box but it does have to be un bolted and pulled away enough to get the heater core out.

I suppose for practicality purposes I'd have to agree. But if I was practical I wouldn't have a ZJ to begin with.

But it's hideous. I'll take a new Grand Overland but not the Cherokee.

Narrowed down my issue to the MFS(Multi Function Switch), or at least it SHOULD be....

First the intermittent wiper cycle quit working, then the windshield squirt stopped working.
Now my Lo speed wiper doesn't work. All I have is Hi....
If it keeps up like this I'll need to take off my shoelaces, tie them to the wipers and run the damn things manually......
Gonna be about 2 weeks before I'll have the chance to go to the pick a part JY....

Awesome......

If you're referring to the new Cherokee, it's FWD standard. Any platform based on FWD is NOT better off road. It will never have the proper ground clearance.

In all actuality, her 2007 sportage is a beast in the snow. It's got an electric locker in the t-case which locks the front and rear diffs, traction control which can be turned off if needed. It impresses me every single time i take it out in the snow. 18+ inches at times and it just chugs through like its not even there.
