The newest vehicle I ever swapped a manual into was a 97 no engine light with an auto comp same with my jeep but not ever vehicle is the same. At least where I live check engine light don't affect inspection and I don't have emissions so don't have to worry about that thankfully a lot of the rams came with a 5.9 but idk about a manual trans in a 5.9 ram and if you can even find one.

It absolutely will hold up. They are used in the ram behind the 5.9, ram is atleast 1000 lbs heavier, and they hold up just fine.

Had to take the wife to work this morning, "hospital"....she preformed perfectly in 4LO. North TX, got about 2" of snow/sleet/ice roadways, this morning @ 27'F.

Its also one of the only times a 4.0 can do a doughnut on pavement lol

You do realize that the 242 has full time AWD that can be used as much as you want to? Just has the option of 2WD as well which can also be very useful. I've been driving mine in full time because I'm too tempted to do burn outs otherwise...

Really the only difference between AWD and full time 4x4 is that AWD vehicles don't have 4lo. The earlier 249's that split 50/50 are closer to an AWD than the later 96+ that is mostly RWD.

I heard someone did a flux capacitor swap, but when they hit 88mph in full-time 4wd the jeep disappeared
