Blew the head gasket In her. :'( luckily I'm going to automotive school so I can do it all there with a lift. Replacing the water pump and radiator while I'm there. Anything else I should do?

Inspect all related components. Might look into new rockers, seeing as they have to come out anyway.

Those tow hooks aren't there for me. They're there for the XJs.

Yeah, things like rockers and pushrods should definitely be inspected. Unless it's stupidly high mileage, they're probably in good shape and fine to re-use.

They're almost definitely fine. I just mean look for upgrade points

There was only ever one factory rear tow hook. The other was added at some point. And my ZJ has 95k on it now and still has a perfect headliner. I think it really depends on the area for the headliner. More humid environments and hotter environments seem to destroy them. Before I got my ZJ, it was always garage kept, which probably had a lot to do with the condition. You new one also looks as if it was always garage kept.

Yup. Mine was always garaged and hardly ever driven with 70k and a perfect headliner. Now, in two and a half years and 162k, driving with the window down, its a mess! I don't even know if it can be fixed from getting all angry with the spray glue! That's OK, its a 4x4!

Mines got 245k and the headliners perfect. I'm pretty sure it's original too. Idk what gives but I've never had any troubles with it.

Well, by that logic, it's time for him to look at some of the 505 performance stuff. Supposedly their roller cam setups (even the small cams) are a pretty solid gain over stock on a 4.0. Add a bigger throttle body, port the head while it's off, etc. Should have no problem picking up 30 - 40 hp that way.

I'm gonna guess it was probably a dealer thing, then. I think whoever bought this new got it as a second or third vehicle and was probably a bit on in years, so I doubt they added it themselves. With that said, there's no way this was anything but a garage queen taken out on the occasional weekend drive. Too clean, too low-miles. Still has its Orvis floormats and everything.

Thanks! It's been life-changing. I can't stop smiling when I think about that beautiful little girl!!!
I'm only 42, so I'll be able to enjoy lots of activities with her before I'm old and decrepit.

I can't wait 'til she's old enough to take wheeling, but I've got a few years before she's ready for that.
