If your paying 300-400 for an alignment i got a bridge for sale im sure you would love to buy.
The cheap spacers have some give and make the suspension unpredictable, as well as settling significantly, which doesn't give you the amount of lift you're paying for. Stock shocks are long enough for street use with a budget boost, but will become limiting straps if you take it offroad (which is the point of a lift, non?). You don't want your shocks to become limiting straps. They're not meant for it. And they will not like it. At 2" you don't strictly need a track bar, but it will affect steering characteristics and accelerate ball joint and bushing wear, as well as exacerbate any problems with wobble. I recommend it, having had problems with my lift and no track bar. A $75 big-box alignment will not do anything for a modified suspension. They'll simply set it to factory, relative to the original suspension settings. That is, you'll end up with negative caster which is a cause of death wobble and unpredictable steering. While I never did have my Jeep professionally aligned, $300 is a rate from a local reputable shop to have the settings dialed in by somebody who knows what caster means for handling, and not the shop lackey with a rack and a computer.

Now, my budget boost cost $300 all told. A high-quality set of spacers that didn't give much at all, and haven't affected my handling, and 4 Skyjacker Nitro-8000s calls that a good value. With that said, I do wish I'd bought a front track bar at the same time. It would have saved me a lot of trouble.

The point being, you can do it for $60 plus shipping, but to do it right takes money. And if you can't do it right, why do it at all? Take some pride, dammit.

It takes a lil work to get the fender mount where the ant is not slanted forward so much..

Oh Jesus you guys went nuts over this
2" spacers - 60$
Shocks if I got ones of appropriate length 50-300 (ideally bilsteins but I'm not made of money)
Shipping for those: 15-30 depending on store
Tires: 5 30x9.5x15r by treadwright - 420 +/-
Alignment - not sure. 50$?
Could very well need a new speedometer gear or to just fix it to be more accurate - 25$?
Now tell me all about that 60-300 buck lift sure I could stay with stock tires but 1.75-2" of lift with 225/75/15r is just silly for a permanent solution and looks worse than stock without appropriate tires to match. Not much offroad gains in the bit of mudding id do anyway

You can run stock length shocks problem free, the tire size change in ntohing you dont need a speedo gear, even so who cares if the speedo is off, you said lift not wheels and tires lol. In reality you CAN lift your jeep 2" for 60 bucks not including tires or anything else.

I went to the local butcher shop for cheap chicken wings, dog bones and scrap for my cat. The girl at the counter asked if it was all for me. I said "Yes, I'm lonely" She left my house a week later to pick up her clothes. Turned out she was a stripper, she moved out two years later.

Whaaaaaaaaaat?? I thought my Kolack Boost was salty, $385 shipped, 2" spacers and Bilstein 5100's, done. I did do other work, (control arms/ bushings, sway bar bushings) but just replaceing worn parts. For a 2 - 3" BB, re- drill track front bar mount 1" lower if your OCD. This set up is awesome on my '95 ZJ. Handles and rides 100% better than it was stock w/ new Sensor shocks. I have Wally World Goodyear 235x75x15 cheapo's on ZJ rims. I could not be happier!

Lift - $385
Tires - $385

ZJ on the left is mine. $700 total investment. Lift, wheels, tires. You guys spending crazy money on a BB really need to do homework before wasting money.

If your goal for a lift is 2" or thereabouts, $700 isn't bad for a properly-executed budget boost.

Now, I personally spent $100 on spacers, $200 on shocks, and $400 on wheels, tires, and spacers. (Because I went to a set of JK Moabs) I wish I'd spent the extra $100 on a track bar, but generally I'm happy. 2" of lift was perfect. I don't want any more than that, and if I'd gone any cheaper, I'd have compromised my ride quality significantly. Not to mention I needed new shocks anyway. And I was running undersize tires before the lift, thanks to the PO.

Don't throw stones if you fancy yourself a rock crawler.

To bad you didnt go with JK shocks also. They would work just fine with 2" of lift, nice ride, and very cheap.

This is actually a sweet deal for you guys not looking to go to high and on a budget. You will still need front and rear track bard though.
