No, 425 horse at the crank which is more than possible out of a 360. All about how you build it. The 6.4 in the SRT puts out 470 horse stock no blower no turbo so im not sure where your getting your numbers from. SBC, SBF, SBC guys have been pushing big power out of small motors since forever. Nothing has changed.

They are not even close to being similar motors besides the fact that they are both V8's. I don't see how you can draw that analogy between the two of them.
So you are saying that you are going to add 100 or so HP to the wheels without stroking it or boosting the 5.9?

Keep us posted for sure. I would like to see that.

i would rather have a street 5.9 spooling a turbo @ 1,800 with more midrange than have it all over 4,000

ONLY 100k miles? I guess you didnt get the memo. Change gear oil along with transfer case and tranny fluid every 30k miles.

I remember when I spilt old gear oil on the garage floor! Smelled for over a week. The wife was not happy! Nasty

Outside has been fully detailed, axles and wheel wells painted flat black, engine bay detailed, some performance engine work done, new tranny, 242 transfer case swap, new rear, slotted rotors, new tires, shocks, the list goes on and on. She looks great, runs great, is pretty damn quick and will kick the @ss out when punched out from a stop with no problem. I plan to have it a long time, and keep it looking the way it does for just as long. I have an engine build in the works making roughly 425 horsepower out of a 360 with no blower and no turbo all motor. The 5.9 was a special Jeep $42,000 in 1998 and not a whole lot of them were made and roughly half of them are left. It's got a lot of options not used on any other ZJ of any year, it's not just a bigger motor. With out the 5.9 there would be no SRT today. Would you wheel an SRT? I wouldn't. Just me i know its a Jeep but its not just any Jeep.
Wow! There is a guy a few doors down with one of those. He had a lifted zj limited, dark green with gold, real nice. Its been replaced by a cherry pearl white zj that looks a little nicer than the last. I'm waiting to see what he does with it. It just sits there. Mine was in like new condition when I got it, then I gave the ol 4 WD a whirl, now she's got all kinds of custom pinstripes care of the trails here in so cal! I love my zj! She's the " other woman"!

In some years when I can scoop one up for $4-5k.....HELL YEAH! I'd hand down the niner to my nephew, turn the dub into trail duty, and dd the SRT for a couple years first.
