It's probably time I introduced myself. I'm Matt and I live in Reno. I'm 31 and I drive a cab right now. I got my 94 Grand limited with the 5.2 a little over a year ago and I've been working on it ever since.
I put some info about my jeep on my profile, but I admit, I haven't gotten around to updating in a bit and I should get to it soon. I've replaced so many original parts, it's not even funny. It had a bad misfire when I got it, but I fixed that with a good tune up and did the plenum pan job. I eliminated the stock airbox parts and kinda made my own cold air intake from some misc parts I had lying around and a few I got from the junk yard. For the reference, I love that place and I love working on my jeep!
I did an injector swap to the 710's and they've been working well for me so far. It runs great and it's very responsive compared to the white tank with bad brakes and various other problems I inherited when I took ownership of it.
I also did an efan swap, using some custom parts and borrowing a few ideas from some guys who have done it before me. Thanks, guys! I've swapped in a 242 transfer case and that's been working well for me too. I think I mentioned I did a toe in alignment in a previous post. I installed a 2" Teraflex bb coil over lift and have been mostly happy with it so far. I still need to replace the lower arms, but I have some for a four inch lift and I'm waiting to use those until I get done with a riser bracket for the rear trackbar that I'm slowly making. The 2" lift allowed me to use the new shocks I have and I also installed some 2" bump stop extensions, which will still be good for the taller lift. The best part of this is that I got the parts for very cheap from the junk yard because they didn't know what to charge me for, so I paid 5 bucks (x2) for the rubber part, cup and spacer with the bolt. The guys there are getting to know me... they ask about the jeep sometimes too! I go in to find misc parts all the time.
I am planning to finish a write up of my own to show how I installed the efan, but I haven't gotten around to that yet. I'm debating finishing it. If anyone has any questions about it, feel free to ask and I'll be happy to help as best I can.
Oh, I replaced the bushings in the axle mounts recently as well and yeah, that was a pain, but I ended up taking out the driver side coil and letting the axle droop as far as it would with the shocks removed. That allowed me to get a more direct angle to carefully install the new bushing. Should've done that first, but you know what they say about hind sight...
I also cleaned up the headlight housings and put clear coat on them and they turned out quite well, I think. The picture looks a little hazy, but I think I took those before I adjusted them and I still actually need to replace the bulb retaining clips on the back, but I don't need to drive often with my headlights on, so I've been procrastinating and focusing on my suspension.
I'll keep updating as I think of more stuff, but I hope you can see the pics well.
