Oh, it was on your FRONT, that makes more since why it's a HP30, not a 35
The pics made me think it was on your rear D35 (upgraded at some point or is that original on your ZJ?) but now that I looked back at that 3rd pic, it all makes more sense
That said, good to know it's a direct bolt-in, sounds like a pretty easy swap although it obviously may take some time off the ol'clock to finish up!
I'm definitely aware of the (my) D44a only on the rear, having replaced 1 axle rod already after it bent from a snake bite curb under a foot of snow a few winters ago.
So essentially, I'd have to find a HP44 or swap out the axle housing entirely (say to a non-aluminum D44 or a D35) in order to upgrade to High Pinion, correct or no?
@970001ZJ - that's VERY impressive! My tranny is an original housing but complete overhaul ran me $2K at 151K miles, so it has 58K on it.
Definitely hope my 318 gets me to that 300K mark! Your ZJ gives me hope!
