Getting there...
Truss done and tacked on
Rear cross member built
Rear links built
Sye installed

Now that I know it all works its time to take some measurements and pull it back apart to finish weld the axle....

Installed new speakers. In doing so I discovered why my doors rattle so much.

Ordered a package of these
http://www.clipsandfasteners.com/Jee...r_p/a17669.htm

I also ordered a package of what I think is the updated version: part number 6504014. I had a couple of these on hand from our old '98 caravan. They seem to fit tighter on the panel and the same as stock on the door.

Keep trying to figure out what to do for insulation/sound deadening. The carpets have been long gone, and I have a spray in bed liner. Wondering if dynomat would work over the bed liner, then reinstall new molded carpet. Possibly put more heat defector aluminum above the exhaust on the underbody.

Getting this thing back to daily status.

I had planned it for that, but the company decided it needed to be twice as big as I wanted.

So, I slapped it onto the hood.

For a sense of scale -

Picked up a brand new one of these for $25. I wanted to put it in the engine bay but I couldn't find any space for it, so it's looking like I'll mount it in the cargo volume instead. It's got 25 feet of line on the reel, and a magnetic base on the lamp, so I can put it where I need to under the hood, as needed.

I got a crash course in welding from a friend who's a certified welding instructor.
In 5 hours he had me welding like a rookie....

Just kiddin', he taught me well and made me weld in all kinds of awkward positions....

Practice is the key!!

Got the HHR electric fan assembly in. Good thing because it was running hot today...and no AC with the heater of full blast is no bueno.

In another note, the ZJ's tach is jumping while stalling, then it jumps back to life. Had codes read, will post on it after I do some more digging.
Think my valve covers or rear main are leaking into my CPS enough to make it finicky.

Just can't get ahead. Can't return to work because of my medical release limitations. I'm becoming even more broke.

Suffering from broken jeep syndrome. Crap, that's a bad acronym.
