Thinking possibly a 8.8 swap is in the very near future. Especially since my favorite pick and pull yard has a 8.8 w/ 3.73 for just $100.
Do itttt

Make sure it has discs and an open carrier if you want to lock it in the future.

Went down to harbor freight to pick up a couple goodies for starting the 231 rebuild. Can anyone tell me is it possible to pull the bearings without a bearing puller, or is there a way to do it without? Pretty nervous since I've never re built anything other than the carburetor on my old toyota. I guess the up side is I have plenty of time to get it done and I won't be without a vehicle if I run into any snags.

Going to take my hitch off, clean it up, fill/fix any rust in it, clean up my skids I got at the Junkyard, and maybe install all three by the end of the three day weekend. If I can source some bolts that is...

Lol we didn't get stuck, however we stayed on the easy ones for the most part. It was extremely muddy and had a few close calls though. Saw a couple guys in XJs trying to pull a guy out that was buried up to his hood and the one guys hitch receiver broke in 2 sending the d-ring and tow strap flying like a missle. Missed us by a few feet.

Oh and blew out one of the new hydro shocks. Now I know why people say they're junk. Looks like I'll be saving for Bilsteins now.

Haha thanks. The one we have is closed on the weekends sadly but there's a bomgaars here that has a decent selection of nuts and bolts. I'm thinking I'm gonna need to drill out my hitch bolts. They didn't budge after pb blaster. That's how I got the skid off in the Junkyard too. Dang rust. O well OT got my transfer case skid and gas tank cleaned up. Painted t case one and got half the gas tank done before running out of paint lol. Gonna pick up another couple cans tomorrow with my nuts and bolts
