After driving the Jeep around with the new muffler, it feels like the power is slightly lacking. What are some recommendations on a catalytic converter? Would this even help? There also seems to be a rattle that I have yet to find since the new muffler. There is a metal on metal sound, which I first thought may be the exhaust tapping the gas tank heat shield. I decided to get under the Jeep when the exhaust had cooled and I tried to replicate the rattle to no avail. Recently I was thinking that it may be the head shield on the catalytic converter? Possibly something else?
Mine was making a weird metal on metal rattling sound when I first bought it, I thought it was the exhaust rattling against something underneath but couldn't replicate it either. I ended up replacing my cat with a magnaflow high flow cat and found that the heat shield on the original cat broke loose on one corner and thats what was causing my rattle.

spark plugs

today bought new plugs and changed my old one's which im suprise were clean. however the 6th plug near the a/c compressor i cannot remove. so I said ill leave it for someday.

but as i start the engine it starts to sputter and almost die, i suspected the one left plug or incorrect firing order, but i mark all of them.

check youtube for some video, and there it was some distance between contact on the plugs, checked the new once and they are all sticking to the
contact no clearance at all, pulled them all back and replaced the old once, and its good again.

now order the replacements again.

Replaced the drivers seat for a better condition one, removed the rear drivers side window motor ready for when the replacement arrives to go in and soldered up the broken wire in the rear door loom.

Checked the tags on the rear axle for gear ratios to be able to inspect one in a breakers tomorrow with low mileage and hopefully the same ratio.

Today all I did is load up the dogs in it and drive them over to the dog park. Gotta do some maintenance soon though, oil change, tranny fluid and filter change, adjust front and rear bands.

Crawled under the rear end to change the gear oil and found my passenger side upper control arm bolt 3/4 out. Only thing holding it in place was the bump stop, the nut was long gone.

It certainly explains the clunking I was getting out of the rear end. Unfortunately it's been that way for awhile as the bolt hole was wallowed out. Grabbed a new bolt, nut and large fender washer to put on the damaged side of the bracket and snugged her down.

I did some wiring on my electric fan last night. I had to stop though because I ran out of yellow butt splices for the 10 gauge wire I'm using for it. I'm probably going to grab some at work today and see if I can't finish it tonight.

Went over everything on the inside with a fine tooth comb since some lowlife decided to break into it and my grandmother's ranger last night. Liftgate sensor is bad and front pass side door lock actuator randomly doesn't work so no alarm on it right now.
Luckily, all they got from me was 7 rounds of .22lr and a 12-volt USB charger. But they did get the title to her truck since she keeps it in her glove box. Maybe she'll finally listen to me about that now...

Glad I'm not the only one. I need to check the cat before calling the shop back. I spend most of my days in school in another city and my mother drives it back in town, so the exhaust is always too hot to touch.

Did you notice any difference in torque? It seems like my Jeep has a little less umph than it used to. My mom even noticed it, which is weird since she isn't "in tune" with vehicles. Haha.

On topic... Drove it to work the previous night.

Decided to post some pics of my deep trans pan installed and the clearance since I had several inquiries on it.

And finally what I did to my zj today was put a steering wheel cover on. Very satisfied.

I installed the magnaflow cat, flowmaster super 44, and a K&N air filter all at the same time and to be honest it did feel like I gained a little bit but I'm not real sure if it was an actual gain or if I just wasn't used to driving her since I did all of that right before I got my license back.

OT: I was driving today and hit a man hole cover with my passenger side tires and felt a little bit of a shimmy in the steering wheel, not sure if I'm being paranoid or if maybe my steering stabilizer is masking a little bit of DW. Guess I'll just have to wait and see if it gets worse since everything is brand new up there.

Your interior makes me want a 93-95 ZJ. It's gotta be one of the cleanest earlier interiors I've seen, at least that's what your pics leads me to believe.

I prefer the later ZJ. I own a 98 and compared to the 93-95 models I like the later models better. But to each their own.

I prefer the 46rh to the 44re as well. Just another bonus to the earlier v8 zjs. And thank you! The only thing that's really wrong with the interior is the carpet up front they cut when they fixed the a/c puddle issue. So I'm gonna get a new front from a Junkyard sometime. My floor mats hide it well tho. I get lots of compliments on my jeep looking good for its age and it never gets old a vehicle only treats you as good as you treat it. And so far it's been good to me
