I dont wanna get rid of it all together, so think I'm gonna turn it on its side, that looks like the best/easiest option.

Ordered new brake hoses front and rear. Pass side caliper locked up do I figured if replace them all since I'll have to bleed anyway. The caliper itself seemed ok. Still think I may have to rebuild the front diff but want to get all the other noises quiet first so I can hear it clearly. Howls a little when on the gas and sometimes when off. Let off suddenly at around 65 and it grinds some. Again the brakes are dragging though. Sorry for the long post.

Put together my list of 'must do's' before summer ends:

Oil Pan Gasket
Rear Main Seal
CV Axle Boot
242 Swap and Driveshaft
Front and Rear Diff Service

Once those are done it should be relatively leak free(!) and I can concentrate on fixing some of the little crap like the rear door locks, broken rear speaker wire, new fog light housings, slow sunroof etc.

Got rid of the e-fan and put in a new clutch fan because the electric fan drew too much power. Damn WJ fan is massive. When I can afford a bigger alternator, I'll go back to electric I think, but for now, $50 for a new clutch fan and no thinking of solutions > $400 and waiting a week for an aftermarket alternator that might reveal even more problems. At the very least, I have the basic wiring done for an e-fan in the future.

Mostly I'm just glad she runs now.

On another note, I need to reinstall the bumper but it's too hot outside to want to. Also, my header panel is shot. Rockauto sells them for $26. But shipping is $86 because that 1.5lb piece of plastic is like 5 feet wide. So that's out of the question.

I got mine for $35 at the jy. Only had to jb-weld one part right in the middle top between mounting points (wich helped it set up nicely!)

Glad you got it running again, sometimes its best not to over think it!

OT: went to investigate the ball joints (pop clunk sound is getting VERY noticeable) only to have it start raining as soon as I walked out the door, that was 5hrs ago....hasn't stopped. Maybe tomarrow.

I would buy a salvage one, but all the ZJs at the local salvage either don't have header panels anymore, or the header panel was destroyed in the process of removing the engine. This yard likes to disassemble their Jeeps before yarding them.

Which brings me to my next point. While I was there, I spied nearly everything necessary to build a YJ from scratch, and I think I could probably do it cheaper than buying a YJ. If that's the case, I'm thinking Jurassic Park Jeep. Thoughts?
