oil change

today,

Idid my oil change 2nd time in mylife alone, first when i was 17 yrs old on my datsun pick up, now at 40 on this ZJ who doesn't like me. Change to Mopar synthetic and a mopar filter, I usually just go on ordinary at the gas stop. Now tried mopar, and it sounds good and quiet.

spark Plugs next.

I used to have a 85 4runner and a single cab pickup, loved them both! The pickup had a total of 10" of lift with 35's and a chop top that poped off with 4 clips! that thing was a beast! I named her "top heavy" and had a vanity plate made [top hvy]I joked it would climb a tree......but sadly it was taken out by a telephone pole. Bent the frame so bad the passenger tire was under the door and drove the front shaft right through the t-case......still drove it home through the canyons, swapped all the parts over to an 82 and sold it to my brother.

I love yota's!

Thanks! My original plan was to leave er lookin as original as possible as far as the body goes, but she's lookin pretty mean without the bumper cover so I'm starting to think she might end ip leaving it off lol.

By the upper tie rod, I'm assuming you're talking about the one on the draglink, aka, the one that has nothing to do with alignment other than centering the steering wheel. Save yourself the money and do it yourself. As far as the caster goes, get the pinion angle dialed in and keep both sides relatively close. Some shops use caster to account for the crown in the road, but I don't believe it's necessary. Where I live, most of the roads don't have crowns or they're divided highways where the left lanes would require the caster set opposite of "normal" to account for the crown.

From a sporty car perspective, caster makes all the sense in the world in my head. But from a lifted-4x4 perspective I can't make sense of what I'm doing under there. First off, how do I pinion angle? And how do I tell, through the numb steering of the Jeep, whether I'm getting close or not?

Went to take her for a drive and started hearing a bunch of grinding and squeaking that sounds like it might be coming from the rear end but I can't tell for sure. Poked around a little bit and couldn't find anything that looks like its rubbing front or rear. No one is home right now so I'm gonna hafta wait for a lil bit before I have someone to drive it up and down the street so I can be outside the jeep and figure out which end its coming from. I hope its just something to do with the rear pads I put on yesterday and nothing to serious.

Picked her up from my friends house after a week in Arkansas. She got a new exhaust system, stabilizer links and a steering stabilizer.

Sorry, I saw your location and I have to ask: Did your Chevy shook a ****?

Anyway, I got the e-fan installed and most of the wiring done. It'll run with the A/C going, but I don't have the thermostat relay trigger wired in. Still trying to find a good wire to splice it into. That's the good news. The bad news is, the e-fan body and water pump pulley are having a bit of a mixer. They don't like each other much.

Well not practical at all but installed the nitrous and made a few test hits all seems fine (for now) and pressure wont up on the bottle. hit up the sand drag Friday see if it stays together or blows. More worried about the trans than anything else

I wheeled with the IRO gang, hit a deer on the ride home, took out the power washer and you can't tell it ever happened.

Played with the front drive shaft angles and control arms today. Lowers are at 16.25 and uppers at 15.5ish. The angle finder on the pinion is 5-6ish degrees along with the driveshaft angle itself being 5 degrees. Is this acceptable?
