I can see doing the bearing behind the leaking seal while I'm in there. But why do the other side if it's not broken? I don't have any noise coming from the rear.
Preventative maintenance since you would have to open the diff and remove the C-clips to do one side of the axle you may as well do the other while it's all apart. It would suck to go through all that again just for one side.
To each his own though, I did both sides on mine when one went bad. Also did both carrier bearings when just one went bad.
Put about 100 miles on it today gathering parts for my sisters car. Replacing a broken CV axle turned into a new wheel bearing, 3 new studs, an outer tie rod end and new power steering hose. And I thought the zj was bad...
Had these bad boys delivered to my work and scheduled an appt to have them mounted and balanced tomorrow.
