Replaced the trim panel that I took off of it last weekend to fix the hatch then loaded it up with my skimboard and drove it to the beach

It's no better on the 4.0. I rubbed my knuckle clean off trying to get at that from all kinds of angles.

Anyway today I took my sisters to Six Flags in the Jeep, and as I'm going over the railroad tracks on the way, I hear a loud pop like a balljoint giving up the ghost, only it's followed by a loud grinding. The retainer pins on my remaining parking brake had just popped out. Now, how is it they held just fine between now and last year when I replaced them, but a couple days after visiting a shop about my parking brake, they come apart? Needless to say, I'm not at all pleased.

So I went ahead and picked up all new parking brake stuff (including new rear rotors because I had to drive 10 miles home with a grinding parking brake shoe- the drum was cooked) and spent several hours installing it. I also picked up a hatch strut (found out the hard way which one of mine wasn't working anymore) and a steering damper, but decided I didn't want to put them on today. It's hot and I'm still dehydrated.

Put on my high and low note Fiamm freeway blasters. Now I have a horn! I'm debating installing two more on the passenger side. But maybe doing both of those as low note, to deepen the tone of the horn?

It's louder than any stock horn I've heard, but not air horn loud.

I put those on my truck about six years ago and they still work great. My ZJ had no horn when I got it, so it got the same horns, good stuff!

Making progress on the XJ D44 rear axle build. Bracket kit welded in , painted and new R&P installed. Install the shaft bearings/seals and install the discs.. then toss it under the ZJ.

Pb blasted nuts n bolts for the 5th night straight in anticipation of my IRO lift arrival.

Off topic......doesn't it piss you off when you order parts and they sit at the local FedEx hub from Friday till Monday when you have a perfectly good weekend now to install it? :banghead:

Water pump died when I was running to get some tomato soup. Just, out of nowhere, seized up and dropped all of my coolant on the ground. Wouldn't have even noticed if I hadn't seen the voltage drop when the belt jammed up.

Bought the parts, but it's too hot outside, I'm gonna wait until it rains on wednesday.

EDIT: How did this become my 1000th post? Talk about irony.
