you may need to raise and lower the engine at the t case a few times to get the bolt out

I took a break from it today but the t-case is the only place I haven't tried jacking it yet. I think I'll give that a shot tomorrow and if that fails repeat all of the above in a friends driveway that's good and level. Thanks for the advice and yeah the original mount is still in there. Even with the other bolts removed and the motor being supported I couldn't free up enough tension to slide the through bolt out completely. Never would have thought something as simple as a motor mount could be such a p.i.t.a.

biggest pita ive ever come across besides breaking parts but well worth it , i started my complete mount replacement at 9 am and finished at 4 pm iirc

you may be surprised to see how much you need to raise the driveline to do this , i was

get a friend to work the bottle jack while you do the bolt , if it seems stuck still tell them to either lower it or raise it because it comes out at a funny angle

same with install , good luck

Ill second this. I don't remember exactly how long it took me, but it was the better part of a day for sure. I was definitly surprised at how much I had to raise the drive line as well, and an extra set of hands to work the jack would have been awesome for sure.

Good idea. I tried to track one down at the house tonight but had no luck. I'm gonna see if I can find one at work tomorrow and fish that bad boy out.

Replaced idler pulley and belt. Had to go with the cheaper belt which I'm not too happy about. But I'm rollin' again.

Correct answer: depends on the shock. Hydros always go shaft up.gas charged can go either direction. Best be safe and read manufacturing specs. Most put shaft up to lessen the rock chips to the shaft....

I bought an almost new set of snow tires in 265/70/17 on some suburban wheels. Tomorrow I'm picking up another set of Moab's to mount them on. Then I should be able to sell the Tahoe wheels and tpms sensors, and pay for the Moab's and mount/balance. I'll install the front shocks too, if I have time. I sprayed them with PB blaster today.
Since no one replied to this: NO.
Don't plastidip moabs please for the love of god.
