Been wanting to swap out the cat converter for months now. I have a new one sitting right here. Once again, in Maryland, it's requires a shop to test the old one and fill out a pile of paperwork which is submitted to the state and translates into a large bill for the customer.

Might be cheaper for me to just buy a welder and sawzall from Harbor Freight.
Can you get a cat from the jy they won't know the difference lol

Sure you can get a cat anywhere as long as it's legal. The one I have will work great I just need someone to cut the old one off and put the new one in. Probably an hour job. But here they have to run all sorts of diagnostics on it before they will even think about changing one out. You can't just go to a shop and say "hey can you cut that out and weld that in?"
They all have to file paperwork for the state of Maryland for every cat they install and the diagnostic of the cat is part of the paperwork. Then they don't even give you the old one back to go recycle it. They charge you a fee for that too.

It's Bollocks I tell you!

Went up to the auto parts store at break time. Bought a new low tone horn, since I figured out mine didn't work yesterday. Also a rad cap since mine was starting to pee at random times. Also disabled my viper alarm but left the keyless entry feature intact. Getting sick of sticking my key in the door..

I also swapped out the track bar tre last night. The old one had some play in it, and i got it covered under warranty, so no $ out of pocket on that one.

Buy a sawzall, cut it out, go to a shop with your new cat, tell them yours was stolen by drug addicts, have your cat installed, sell the old one for scrap.

It has been a while since i have posted on here but yestarday i finally fixed my drivers side door so now i can shut off the alarm with the key instead of going to either the trunk/passdoor and i also ajusted my kickdown cable so now it actually shifts down when i floor it. i also replaced all my switches in my doors so it rolls the windows down, and replaced the light covers on the doorpanels and finally about a month ago i replaced my bumper covers so no more broken bumper covers.
