You should never use hockey pucks to lift a vehicle.

People who aren't exactly sure what a polyurethane coil spacer is called will often call them hockey pucks. They also get called budget boost a lot due to their relative cheapness, which peoeple abbreviate as BB. In reality, hockey pucks dont have a large hole in them, nor are they nearly big enough. Actual hockey pucks DO work great for fitting INSIDE a coil, however, to extend your front bump stop once you lift, which you should do, even with a BB.

There's no reason at all to live in that part of the country. Just north enough to have rust problems, just south enough to have education problems, just liberal enough for car problems, and just conservative enough to have infrastructure problems. What a god-awful place.

Did some research myself. Texas has next to no state laws regarding cars. Just a muffler requirement, 20-0 in 30 feet, and a minimum 2 headlights, 2 brake lights it looks like. Nothing about bumpers, frames, tires, wheels, or even emissions. Most of that is handled at the county level. Course, Texas has its own problems, mostly in the form of Governor Goodhair and his Cowpoke Posse, but it is car friendly here.

FL is pretty similar. As long as stuff isn't falling off of it as you're driving you're good to go.

Yup! Most of the ones we do have aren't even strictly enforced!

Broke the passenger side front sway bar end link

Then cut myself prying it away from the spring so I could drive it until I replace it.

I said the tires will fit with no lift. The second shop said we know they will but since you argued with the last shop they may have notified the state trooper just to be pricks. He said take the pucks out and he will sign off on it for free. I understand he is just covering his butt since this state is obviously this effed up.

To make up for it I just ordered OME 2.5" coils. No sense in taking all apart just to put a BB back in.
That sucks. At least you're getting some nice coils out of it. I had a hard time registering my car a couple years ago. I was on the title with my dad to keep insurance low when I originally got the car. I didn't care much that he was on there but he insisted a couple years ago that we transfer the car into just my name. Why? I don't know. Whatever, full coverage on my ZJ and Caprice runs me $70 a month combined. Being married and over 25 helps with that too though. Anyway, I had to run around to 3 DMVs before one would accept my dad's chicken scratch on the mileage for the title. You couldn't tell if the tens digit was a 3 or a 5 the way he wrote it. The car had 4255x on it when I went in there. You think they'd think I was lying about the more valuable numbers, not the tens digit. Regardless, I argued with 3 people at one DMV, 1 at another, and finally got my way with no argument at the third. "Does this look like a 5 to you?" asked one DMV clerk to another. "Yup." And that was it.

On topic, I wired up my control box for my e-fan today. I researched removing the mechanical fan as well. I think I'm almost ready to get this thing in. I want the swap to go as quickly and painlessly as possible. I also loaded up my Nitro with my sliders to bring them into work tomorrow. I'm going to leave them there overnight and install them on my Jeep on Wednesday using a breaker cart. It'll be a lot easier than trying to use a couple of jacks and it raises and lowers with a lot more control than a jack. I'll have pics to follow when they're done.
