Engine swap is done. Swapped an OBDI '95 V8 to an OBDII '98 V8. Cranked first go and no codes, had to swap the 1 & 2 plug wires to the proper spots though.

she has the name ol' flakey for a reason. however, the rusting roof is a bit much. plan has been to do the whole jeep in white plasti dip so finally started today. i severely underestimated the prep i had to do to the roof and ended up only laying the primer on as the sun went down...oh well.

can kind of see the rusty roof in this pic

right after spraying the primer. i didnt go all out but blew as much of the loose paint off as i could with a pressure washer at the quarter car wash. they are gonna love that but for $8.25 they can deal with the paint flakes all over the place. took forever to get the moulding adhesive off that holds the 4 plastic runner pieces under the roof cross bars. sanded the sheet out of the roof and tried to get the loose edges off. its far from perfect but at least the plasti dip will have something a little more even to lay down on

Got her on the interstate yesterday for a 60-ish mile run. Started by making sure she could still do over 100, which was no sweat, then set cruise at 85. 16 years old and still doesn't flinch.

Drove it to work. Steering still feels a little loose (waaaayyyyyy tighter then where i was after getting the lift installed though) and there were a couple bumps that made the steering wheel shimmy a little but no death wobbles. Yesterday I adjusted the cam bolts on the lower CA's and that seems to have gotten it a little more dialed in. I'm going to re meassure the toe in and make sure that's solid and get my steering wheel straightened back out and see where that gets me.

Got it aligned, cleaned the interior, and let the rain wash the outside of her.

The man in brown brought her some new Duratracs this afternoon. Anyone looking for new tires should check out Discount Tire Direct this week. Goodyear's have $160-180 in visa reward cards back.

Took her on a short wheeling trip to find some fire pit rocks. Found exactly what I wanted and loaded idk how many hundred lbs in the back and wheeled my way home. Back end looked like it was stock with 31's stuffed in there and a full load of gear, but not a prob on the way home. 2 more trips to go!
