I'm surprised my niner doesn't attract attention from cops. It's loud as hell, even at idle and the sound carries pretty well. I've had friends tell me they've heard me get on the highway quite clearly from a bit over 1/4 mile away with lots of trees between me and them.

I used the ZJ as the trailer jockey, moving loads of logs, car parts and a engine to my storage shed in the back yard. Backing the trailer over several inclines, a few stumps and a sharp curve, she did not spin a tire even with wet grass and all the odd angles .. very impressed!

Eh, the 'spare' shafts I have are bent, so it's all I got. Not trying to invest a lot into this thing, trying to keep things inexpensive, as I don't have plans to keep it.

All about that unibody life.

Started looki g a little more into wheels. I was looking at the chart that says what's needed to run what size tires and it says min bs is 3.75 in and recomended is 4 in. Am I understanding correctly that if I run 3.75 in of bs the tires will stick out an extra 1/4 in and they will suck in that 1/4 in if I go with 4in? Also is there any issues that could arise from running slightly less bs since 4 in is recommended? Just want to make sure I'm understanding everything correctly here before I drop more loot on parts.

Day 2 rear bumper rebuild, welded stock bumper to 2x3 bumper brackets. Test fit the first section of the tire carrier structure. Every thing has been going together as planned. Once done I will have a stock bumper cover with a tire carrier sticking out from the plastic cover.

Yeah, it's the first time mine's attracted any attention from cops (to my knowledge). I didn't even have problems when my exhaust was coming straight out the cat for a week (the other half fell off), I'm sure you could hear me from very far away at the time. There must have been a decent amount of street racing going on last night because I wasn't even driving too aggressively.

i have the 4.0 and i think cops profile me.. been pulled over for everthing from speeding. to crossing the yellow line, to them asking if i had been at a gas station (come to find out later that it was robbed). been a little better since i got the damn thing painted. i know my exhaust doest draw attention like you guys. but damn.

Yeah I think you're right about the profiling. Each time I've been pulled over in the Jeep, they suspiciously ask if it's mine. I guess they're often stolen, and a lot of us drive them like we stole them

The only two BS pull-overs I've had: running a yellow light, and the acceleration. He didn't even mention speeding when he pulled me over (since I wasn't)

Yeh proximity to google Facebook and apple does that. Hundreds of Asian mothers with full blaster shield doing 15 on the highway in their Benz SUV.

You do realize that these are not "BS pull-overs" right?

You mean to tell us that you can break a law even when you're not speeding? I don't believe it!

OT: I had an offer to trade for a fully built 98 TJ today. I'd have to throw less than $1k on top of the deal for the trade, but I think the BDS long arms on the TJ would be completely worth the trade... Now, to convince the wife.
