Plan on at least an hour to cut out and prep each window opening....
The windows have a rubber molding around them. If you look carefully you can see the difference between the urethane and the rubber. The urethane cuts easier than the rubber, too.
If you happen to nick/slice the rubber, it's no big deal, you'll have urethane squishing around to seal it when it's re-installed.
I also bought a lift glass hatch w/privacy glass, not rust free , but whole. I swapped my hatch out, so I could use the hatch glass from mine on my wife's ZJ
I removed the privacy glass from my fixed glass hatch and transferred it to my wife's hatch.
Use about a 1/4" to 5/16" bead of urethane, centered where the old line of urethane is.
Good Luck!
Thank You!! It is to be close to 90 outside for a couple days, so that may help with cutting out the urethane on the windows and installing the new head lights.

I know I really should have, but I didn't. Was really trying to do this on a shoe string budget. Got a junkyard compressor for $32, belt for $30 and enough r134a to get the system to spec for $30ish. Under $100 to get the whole job done isn't bad. Finished charging it up this morning and it's blowing nice and cold, no visible leaks with the uv light either. So far so good, fingers crossed.

No worries, I totally understand doing things on a budget. I bought my ZJ for $500, so I have a hard time dropping $100's on certain repairs.

BOT:

Gonna stop by the local JY today as their inventory shows 12 ZJ's in stock, plus it being half off day, I might score something good.

I found mud yesterday, i was happy. I had to follow the power line access road to find it. Was deep enough and rutted that my diff is caked in mud.

I plasti-dipped mine today. I am so happy with it, all I need are some MT's and a lift. Still beats the oxidized Forest Green though!

Treated the bottom of the hatch and the lip of the hood with Por 15. I've heard great things about its ability to stop rust. So far, my first impression is I'd definitely recommend it. It seems like a pretty solid product.

I bought a quart of POR-15 about 15 years ago. About 13 years ago the can got damaged while moving my paint locker. I noticed the leak a few days later. Not only is that the only leg of the locker nut rusty, but it is still cemented fast to the concrete floor, the stuff is hard as nails. It works, but you do have to top coat anything the sun might see!! It is not UV stable.
