Her butts grounded!

I got her butt back on the ground! 2" BB rear is done. Now it's time for a face lift. She will also get an attitude change, intake, 703's, header, exhaust work, '96 nose - n - grill w/ fog lights ...

maximum stuffage.

they are 36 x 12.5-15's on a factory UC with 2" BB

and before anyone says anything, they are temporary. This jeep is getting cut up in a couple weeks. being made into a firewall buggy on full widths. put them on now just to see how long the stock axles last before imploding.

Lol. Quite honestly, me either. I figured I'd use the jargon used in the links I posted to "appear more intelligent." The pics actually looked pretty legitimate so... Yeah. You can probably see why I did it that way.

Tore the engine down to replace my blown heater bypass hose and plenum gasket. The gasket looked like it was in pretty good shape with no obvious blown out or torn sections, however some of the bolts weren't as snug as the others when I was removing them, so that probably explains the ounce or so of oil in the bottom of the plenum.

After doing some more reading on it, I decided against doing the Kegger mod at this time. Being that I have no other engine mods like roller rockers or a camshaft, I didn't feel like the gains would be worth the time I would need to spend on the manifold. Plus my '96 has the weird EGR hybrid manifold with the block off plate so that adds a bunch more material that needs to be removed. I do have a set of '703's that I'm gonna toss in so I'll clean up the injector bosses a bit and install a Durango air hat and call it a day.

I'm a little concerned about my fuel rail crossover tube though, I think I may have tweaked it pulling it off the manifold and rather then let it ride and see if/when it decides to break, I was wondering if anybody has replaced that piece of nylon tubing? I know that Dorman sells nylon fuel line repair kits, so that's an option, however I could also use some high pressure fuel line and double clamp the ends as well.

You could pull a kegger out of a junkyard and work on it little by little. There's a guy on the speed freaks and as far as I know he dosnt have a cam or anything and he modded the kegger and he says it pulls hard to 5400 rpm. His is a niner and has to have a tune to up the rev limiter.

Yeah, that's most likely what I will do. I'd like to find a newer manifold that doesn't have the center divider so I'll keep an eye out for one.

As far as gains go, I found a couple threads on various Dodge forums showing net gains of around 9 HP and -10TQ on a mostly stock (intake, TB, cat back) engine. Granted the power band shifted and where peak TQ started dropping was shifted higher up in RPM which by seat of the pants will make it feel like its pulling harder up to redline.

I think that a nice RV or street style cam that boosts low end torque would be a great compliment to a modded kegger, especially on a 5.2.

Its been broken into, I have had that done to mine. The upper door section is pretty flimsy. They shoved a flat bar in through the top, put feet on door and pull back, the top will bend out and not break glass and give enough room to hit the unlock button. My alarm went off when they unlocked it and they scattered. Its easy to get back into place with the window down. The tough part is getting the window down without breaking it

Did the IAT sensor relocation mod. I've heard mixed reviews about mileage, gains, etc, so I'm trying it for myself.
