I changed out my 231s vacuum 4wd switch for an electric one for a 97 Wrangler, its a normally open contact two terminal spst switch. So my graphical display will only show 4 wheel drive or 2wd instead of 4 low neutral and 4 high. In the end I may mount a couple reed switches on the shifter, well see... Anyway enough rambling. Speed sensor changed to a 35 tooth and seals changed. I'm still not sure if either of my stock drive shafts will be reuse able. I know the 249 swap thread is great, and got me through my 249 to 242 swap on the dd, but my 231 deviates from their recommendations as its from a 95.5 YJ.

I my have finally had the transfer case installed, and these problems worked out, if I remembered where the hell I put the nuts.... "Brick wall"

Fishing Poles .. ?

Now we are in my yard! I am going to build my roof rack with "rod" storage being a #1 - #2 priority. At this point I will be building a 4' x 6' rack that will include clamping fixtures for 2 - 6" x 7' PVC tubes, lockable yet with drainage/ airflow to prevent mold and excessive corrosion. From camp to the beach an exterior rod rack is fine, but the 200 miles to camp they need to be protected. I have several 2 piece 10' - 15' surf rods as well as 7' boat stand up rods and a few XXX heavy 7' "inlet/ striper - boat mahi-mahi rods. I keep the reels in seperate storage inside, they ain't cheap!
For inside storage/ transport of small rods, build a rack to bond into the OE fiberglass over head panel. Keep your reels seperate to reduce wieght!

I think what I'm going to be doing is take some PVC notch it so the rod/reels sit deeper in them. And I don't have the head liner in my zj any more. Soooo what I might do is just drill some holes and tie the darn things up with some 550 cord and call it good. And then have some support up in the front for the end of the rods.

And my rods are just some pan fish rods. No super heavy duty stuff. I'm just lookin for something to keep the rods in so if I get a burr up my *** after work or,somthin to go fishing I already have it with me and its out of the way

So I was cleaning up the shop a lite today. I found a can of sea foam I bought last summer. Iv got about half a tank of gas left. What do you guys say, dump the bottle in the tank? Or half in the tank half in the crank case when I'm closer to change the oil?

Currently 2... And always on the search, currently the wife and I are open to ZJs, FSJs, and FC-150s. She told me Sunday that she thinks one of her regular is going to scrap out a 79 Ford 4x4 "Farm Truck". I'm hoping for super 60s front and back lol. Although right now about everything is on hold with our first child on the way. Unless something just falls in my lap....

Also does anyone have a front case half for a 249 they don't need? I know a guy in Wyoming that needs it to get his Jeep back on the road, I had promised himmmine but after tearing it down this weekend found it was cracked. Its currently at Richardson Racing products but is unlikely to be repaired. Can anyone help this guy out? My deal with him was he pays shipping and then when he received the case half to send me a
Sticker from an of road shop in his area as payment. I know its not much as far as payment, but seriously who is ever going to reuse their 249?

I used to do a lot of river fishing in the Juniata River, Susquehanna River, North & South of Harrisburg, PA and at times below TMI. At that time I had my Jeepster Commando! I attached 2 strips of 2x4 split into 2x2’s with & 1" holes drilled into the 2x4 prior to ripping it into 2x2’s right into the roof. Yes it leaked! I still use that rack as my creek rod rack attached to the ceiling in my garage!
Hellish good times in that old Jeepster!! We used to go cat fishing with just a net. Sooooo many junk tires in the Juniata, the cat fish would lay inside the tires, hold your net over a tire you find while wading the river and kick the tire a few times!! Bingo, a big 'ol cat!!

Drill a 1/4" hole at the inside of the crack to prevent further cracking, run a weld bead on the outside to repair the crack & seal the drilled hole.
