Drove to school this morning. Every time I was on the brakes with any suspension movement, the speakers and tweeters would cut out. This happened conveniently after I had changed the brake pads. So, I checked my chassis ground first since I was home at that point and had the hood up. Then I ripped out the head unit, checked all the wiring, everything was 100%. Checked the amp, 100% there too. Checked the tweeters, same story, until I got to the front speakers. The connector on the negative cable had come off and the wires were touching intermittently, causing ALL of my speakers/tweeters to cut in and out. Can someone say headache?

Re-routed and covered my wires in split loom using the TSB yesterday after work, along with a new PCV valve. Seems like that fixed the surging I would feel at freeway speeds.
