I need to get to a junk yard, the withdrawal is killing me.

On topic I'm hoping to finish my 231 swap tomorrow. Then all I need is some used front shocks and a power steering pressure line and its driveable. Not necessary but I should replace my empty catalytic for the good one laying in my drive way and turn the welded thrush muffler around the right way...

Quick question, if you had a bucket of "good" trans fluid under the center of your jeep for the last 6 months would you re use it in your rig?

I had noticed a small water leak from the front of the engine. I already have a new water pump at home. Picked up a new water outlet housing, thermostat and lower hose today so I'd be covered if it was one of those. I degreased the engine, wiped everything down. Drove it down the road, parked it at the shop and waited. Nothing. No leak. I think it's messing with me lol. So I started taking apart the Dana D44a axle I got a couple of weeks ago. Going to replace everything, get a truss and a new cover for it. May drop in a lunchbox locker if I can find one.

My Aussie in my 44a is proving to be a good investment. I don't know how I feel about it for daily driving though.

The trans is in rough shape to begin with I have addative in that it ran well with it is the only thing. I only have two planned trips with it then my baby will be born and the next year will be just build work, If I have time... I have a lot of the goods for an ax15 swap and am working towards that direction as well as a front and rear 9 in swap. My 231 is actually off of a 95 ax15 95 YJ.

Today I changed my oil pan gasket. I have the 4.0 and damn it was a PITA.

My jack wouldn't lift high enough so I almost disconnected my steering stabilizer but then decided to try the sway bar links so the body could get higher. Apparently all it needed was a little bit more motivation to slide past the axle...of course that happened after I became a bit frustrated.

On top of that I couldn't get the gasket to seat and in the process it got bent (one of those fel-pro ones with the metal core) so I said **** it and used some high temp RTV. Worked like a charm and now I don't mark my territory everywhere I go

I still see some oil dripping from the oil filter and some build up on the tranny pan. Will probably do my valve cover gasket and figure out the rest of the leaks next.

God I love my ZJ

I hope to finish up the rear suspension in the morning, then on to the front! I must have a odd ball oil pan as it is not leaking, knock on wood! However the oil filter adapter starts dripping as soon as it is started. I got the O-Ring kit to rebuild the adapter. I also figured to replace the motor mounts, trans mount and valve cover gaskets while doing the 99+ intake/ header upgrades.
And yes, I love my ZJ!! I'm even willing, maybe, to part with one of my Stangs for another ZJ!

hmm... I have that muffler. what is the correct way? mine makes a loud sound at certain rpms and it sounds like a shield rattle from with in the muffler.
