All this week been working on the left side susp/strg. Started ripping out the right side this afternoon and got most of that done. Have tomorrow off, and will start reinstalling the right side. Stuff is coming off pretty easy. I will probaly wind up with a problem getting the axle lined up but I'm not sure yet.

flyn high

Busy day today!! The health issue over the last couple of weeks, Pneumonia, surprise 4th time in 5 years, cleaning out an old barn, moldy pigeon crap, rat poop and squirrel snot. Cure, ?? Steroid inhaler & steroid pills. I feel better (like HeHe, HaHaHa); chest x-ray was OK for tumors, no cancer signs. Considering a couple of years w/ US Navy in asbestos loaded engine rooms, fun from the 70’s & 80’s and 20+ years of nails, Yehaaaa!!
OT… I got something done today. I took off the original radiator support, cleaned; wire brushed and scrubbed with 3M Scotchbrite pad around the battery box area, primed the battery box area and cleaned the radiator support mounting areas. I also removed the driver’s side rocker panel cover, surprise, NO major rust!! I painted the horn mounting brackets and I started the installation of the WOLO horns for mock up, looks like the OE harness might be long enough. I’m getting ready to start the installation of the KOR radiator support! Holy steroids!! I did a bunch of ship. This is almost better than beer!! If it only tasted hoppy like Sierra Nevada “Torpedo” ……… I’ll post pics if I can figure out how to stop vibrating.
pics - cut off PO brush guard bracket, cleaned & prepped rad support bolt-in area, battery box bolt in area and LH rocker.

I'm amazed at the beating my last zj took before it's time at the scrap yard. Bone stock welded rear 35 cut body on 31s. It took 3 days straight of full throttle through everything at the badlands and survived.

I used loctite superglue and rtv and regular caulking. Gonna replace with an oem grill though but it's holding up well.

Glad my expense could bring you guys some entertainment

To be honest, I didn't intend to go flying. For some reason my mentality told me to PUNCH IT, totally blanking out that I have a V8 under the hood and not my old 2.5L in my Wrangler. Had to punch it to get that thing moving, this one took off like a rocket and before I knew it I was hitting that jump at about 30mph.

My whole thought process whilst flying was "Oh f*** ". Hit the brakes hard when I hit the ground, didn't work too well until the drivers front tire blew. Bent the wheel pretty badly from hitting a rock in the ground. IMO the axle can be fixed. Weld the tube back up then sleeve it and unbend the shaft, I might do that then sell it, but I'm not keeping it.

The sound was like hitting a deer at 50mph. Not good. My buddy said he heard the tire blow off the wheel, I was too distracted by bracing for impact to listen much more.

I will definitely be buying another ZJ in the future, with the V8 of course. I like the way it drives. Gas sucks but it's a Jeep. Rated towing capacity is what? 5000lb?

And on a side note, are the transmissions in these things worth anything? Should be the 44RE.

I think its actually a little more, at least on the '98, I am pretty sure it's like 6,500 lbs.

A week or so after getting my drivers licensee, I “jumped” my mom’s ’67 Formula S Barracuda with a handful of friends in the car, no damage other than hints of urine coming from the back seat. But I never tried a repeat!

I used epoxy glue, come with two solutions, you mix and it dries in about 60 seconds, I first tacked it all together on the corners, then used a bunch all over the sides. I spent about $12 on epoxy, other people have used gorilla glue(not the super glue stuff though) the original gorilla glue.

Just be careful bc gorilla glue expands a lot lol
