Gutted the dead VIC and moved switches to it. 35amp switches with 10 g wire for the e-fan and lights. Black switch for the CB. Red for air relay and yellow for a future accessory. All heat shrank and wire loomed.

Bought Durango airhat, and a plastic elbow from some Ford with matching tube size; I'm getting ready to do a cowl intake. Relocated cruise control dealy to where the stock A/C accumulator is located. Mounted XJ PDC bracket along side stock ZJ PDC to mount the accessory PDC that was taken from a 99 Dodge Neon. 5.2L K&N FIPK still up for grabs, pm for details.

Had to put a new battery on mine. The red top that was in there finally crapped out on me today. Hoping this next check will have enough overtime so I can replace the alternator and be done with it

Looking at prices for D30 shafts make me feel like they are made of gold

I hate when old people poke me at weddings, point and whisper, "You're next." So I've started doing the same thing to them at funerals

U-joint ones, yes. CV shafts are cheap as heck ($50 for a reman, brand new for $100).

I'm sticking with CV shafts should I need one. If one breaks, at least I can limp it. You break a u joint shaft and you have to either tow it or fix it there.

I'm keeping mine just because they're not any weaker than stock u-joint shafts and they're much cheaper to replace if I break one. The front DS, however, will get swapped to a u-joint one at some point.

Oddly enough, my 5.2 came from the factory with a stock u joint front driveshaft. Lucky me.

So I should just get a CV for a replacement and not a U joint hmm

I'd say so. Stock vs stock, CVs are better.
