Definitely give that a shot. I've seen an off-balance front tire cause a steering shimmy (not death wobble though) on ZJs before.

I've been a tire tech since 1988. This is a valid point! One step farther, have them watch the wheels and tires carefully as they spin. An out of round tire(or worse, one with a broken belt) will cause DW every time.

I sure as hell hope that's not the problem. I can't afford new tires

I bought Hellas (in pic) they're black magic 500s. New in box. One lens has a internal chip on the rim but it's basically cosmetic. I got the pair for 57 bucks

Got around to replacing a bad axle u-joint, only it was rusted beyond repair. Not surprising after 190k in New Jersey. Ended up putting in a new CV shaft instead and all is well again.

Good to know that the front servo test port is a good spot for the 42/44 trannies, 44re in my case. I used the same port for a gauge on my 94 zj w/ the 46rh and my old 98 ram with the 46re. Got it hooked up to a gauge? where did you mount that? Cruzin town what temps ya runnin?

Giving me some motivation here knowin it'll work the same
