Drove it up snowboarding and ended up with a leaky water pump at the end of the day

Drove about 60 miles today just so my idler pulley would start making noise. Thought it was the alternator at first but sprayed some WD-40 on the idler pulley and the noise went away. Changed that out and all is good now.

Question: What brand is the original alternator on a 98 Grand? The alternator I have in mine is a Denso.

If the Denso in mine is original then 15 years for an alternator is a pretty good lifetime. I may want to go ahead and purchase a spare Denso to put in its place when it does fail.

I have no idea what I meant by "jus" in my last post. I thought I said "is."

Been without my zj for a week now. Had to give it to my shop for the top tier final round of repairs on her. Power steering pump, tranny cooler lines, valve cover gaskets, oil change, alignment. Figured I should get it all done at once to save on hourly labor...
Normally I dont let other people work on it but the weather has been awful in va and I also like having more expensive repairs under warranty.
God I miss the jeep... this week ive been whipping the family honda accord rocking the student driver sticker on the back for my little brother. Yeah, im a thug. Haha

Good news and bad news. Got my vic cubby from dunkeye11, gonna put that in saturday. Could have gone a little easier on the tape and packing peanuts haha

Bad news: lost my brakes, so I have to fix that tomorrow before I go to work..
