Today, I went outside and just sat in my ZJ. 3 months til I get my license!
Been there... Done that.... its a very annoying time when you cant drive your zj for any reason.
My idea of modification is usually if you don't like it, tear it off.
'95 Jeep ZJ Laredo 4.0i6, 42re, np231, 2" BB.
not a jeep but traded a jeep cj-5 for it... 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 500r. (for saving gas... and fun...)
Wet sanded the headlights, cleaned up the battery cables and terminals. Wet sanded one wheel trying to get rid of some of the corrosion on it. Didn't really get that off but it cleaned up all the old caked on crap that was on it. Now to do the other three. Put in a new radio. Now need some new speakers.
On topic, my ZJ is still sitting outside my apartment wallowing in its own sadness as the JB weld cures (which takes forever when it's close to single digit temps). I heat gunned it for a bit last night to help it out, hopefully it'll be at least mostly cured by this evening (it'll have been 26 hours or so), as I kinda need to drive it. I'll just drive around with the e-fan out for a day or so so I can see the spot better to confirm it's not leaking, then I'll fix the connectors on the e-fan wiring that broke when I removed it and reinstall it.
A lot of times those dummies at the used car lots over pay for vehicles and then they are stuck selling them at ridiculous prices. Why I was searching for mine I test drove a late model 95 with 80 thousand miles on it( or so the odometer read) that had the up country package. The entire suspension was blown and it drove like a boat. There were cigarette burns all under the ashtray, the leather was all torn up and then re upholstered by Sloth from the Goonies from what it looked like, the side mirrors were different colors, ect. I could go on but you get how crappy it was. I wanted it to hack up the fenders but even this was a bit too ghetto for me. Mr. Derka Derka wanted 5 grand for it. I told him I'd give him 1000 max and then he showed me how much he paid for it which was around 4600. Then he had the seats done and the mirrors fixed plus some body work. He was way over his head in it hahaha He should have stuck to Camel sales.
I would have had about 7 grand to build it if I got it for 1000 which was still over paying in my opinion. I ended up with a 5.9 instead.
Cleaned mud & sand kinda off, looked at my damage , nothing to bad my rockers need some love so do my wheels , file & paint to remove rock rash on my rims. Ripped the plug tip on the tans speed sensor wheeling on Sat thankfully not the wire, new one came via Fedex around lunch today , three minuet job. Some ATF later and the CEL is gone. 4x4 linkage is holding up with a few zip ties and cotter pin , works fine now.
"aut viam inveniam aut faciam"
I hate when old people poke me at weddings, point and whisper, "You're next." So I've started doing the same thing to them at funerals
