Realized that we're supposed to get 5-8 inches of snow this afternoon / evening, so I probably won't get to even try to epoxy the radiator leak until tomorrow (being 10* with a wind chill of -5 doesn't help either).

It's not too cold until you're trying to JB weld something at 11* and having to shoot the JB with a heat gun to keep it thin enough to apply (even uncured, it's just about solid at that temp). Plus having to use the heat gun to start the curing process.

Not quite true. There have been reflector housings that were designed to have HIDs in them, which work fine (stock on later Lincoln Mark VIII, Lexus IS300 and a few others). However, I've never heard of aftermarket ones. It's basically a rule of this "If the housing wasn't designed for an HID, don't put an HID in it, as it won't spread the light properly".

The other problem with HIDs is when these idiots lift their trucks, they don't re-aim them, so the cutoff is above your rearview mirror anyway, if it even has one. Improperly housed and aimed HIDs, blue and yellow headlight bulbs, and smoked or otherwise tinted taillight and headlight housings should be illegal.

They are illegal in most places. Yellow-ish or blue-ish light is legal as long as it's within a certain bound. Beyond a point, it's not. These rules are just rarely well enforced.
