Clean the iac, changed the oil, rotated tires, checked fluids...

And searched the junkyard for 703 injectors but they were picked clean. :,(

I just replaced my engine mounts. They served the ZJ well for 188,000 miles. I posted a few days ago that after market mounts do not work for the 96 5.2 ZJ.
Go OEM.
The car drives so much smoother now, I am very very impressed with the change. I would encourage doing this maintenance work.

Hey man watch out and compare the mounts to the ones that will coming out of your ZJ. If you have 5.2 it is important that the engine load is on the rubber compound. Also the driver side has bolts that are welded onto it. The after market ones that I returned three times in a row had this nuts with with a different thread count and pitch.
Just FYI.

The old slant six was a 3.7. It was an amazing go for 100,000 miles with no oil engine. Hard to beat them.

93 red ZJ 190k 4.0. Spent more money than I should have ...

Isn't red the only color a vehicle should be?
If at first you don't succeed, use more speed.

A couple weeks ago I dodged a moose and went off-roading until I hit a tree. Here is what A tree will do to a Trail Ready bumper at about 35mph:

Both headlights are damaged beyond reuse, the header panel is cracked, and there is a fine spray of ATF all over the back of the radiator. There was also a bit of damage to the rear bumper and the paint as I had to create a clearing in order to get a good run at the snowy embankment in order to get back up to the road. Many small trees and large bushes fell in my wake.

I told my insurance agent that I was able to do all the work myself minus the paint but he said it wouldn't help. It was a total loss. He then wrote down a number, $7462. He looked up and smiled. He then subtracted my $500 deductible and $550 for a salvage title and printed off a check for $6412, handed me my keys and wished me a Merry Christmas.

My ZJ has never been stuck, it was just taking a break from being so awesome!

$6412 for a '98 ZJ?

Do you still get to keep it?

The appraised value was $7462. Minus the deducible and the $550 buy-back price I got a check for $6412 and drove my jeep home. Deposited the check this morning and once that clears, I will joyfully be ordering parts for her

Are you going to have to re title, register and drop full coverage? Due to the total loss claim?
