put gas in it and painted the mirror and the lift gate. the old mirror was ruined so i went and bought a junk yard mirror that was silver. when i got it i only had flat black and it didnt look that bad so i never fixed it but it finally got to me yesterday.

Restored my headlights with Crystal View Headlight Restorer. It took me about 20 minutes total and worked really well.

Before

After

Unfortunately, now I know that reflector on the driver's side headlight has most of the finish peeled off.

At least the lens is good, though.

got ready for swap this weekend ^^

got the engine all painted up and on a stand ready. have to paint the trans and will be swapping engine/trans this weekend!!

5.2L >> swapping 5.9L

44RE >> swapping 46RE

picture of painted engine on my profile...if anyone else has done this swap on a 96 ZJ let me know if there were any hang ups. from what i read i need to change my driver side motor mount, lengthen my starter wires as mine will be on the passenger side now? (not verified) and the rest should be pretty plug and play. they left me all of the wire connectors on my 5.9L when it showed up so if i have to change out some sensors/connectors that shouldnt be too difficult. i have replaced the heads on this ZJ before, have replaced transmissions in jeeps before so im not too afraid....yet i will keep it updated.

i went with platinum spark plugs and went one heat range hotter trying to get a little more performance out of it until i get the pcm replaced.

also wondering if the 5.9L exhaust manifolds are usuable instead of the manifolds on my old 5.2L...? thanks for reading!

Cleaned the IAC, checked the throttle body, it needs cleaning as well, I'll have to get the cleaner for it.

Also need to grab a new air filter. Idle seems a bit smoother. IAC was dirty, but not super bad.

get enough extensions to reach the cps from the rear side and on top of the crossmember. unbolt it, use a prybar(if needed) to pry the old one up and out of the hole it fits in. then bolt in the new one. and be prepared to have to make your arm fit between the tranny and the tranny tunnel.
on topic i stared at it wishing i could drive it....

Hope you can soon.

Had all the intentions of finishing my lift today, doing the F>R w/ 2" BB, gonna be sitting on 35" Buckshot Mudders tomorrow now. I've got to finish putting the RE CA's on in the rear, and any remaining problem areas that'll need trimmed. I've already done a healthy trim job on the fenders and not running any bumpers. It's gonna be sweet.
