[QUOTE=MrObvious;14339738]Changed the front diff fluid and checked the spider gears to see if that's where my clicking while turning is coming... What do you guys think? Look bad?

Stick a mechanics magnet in there and see how much metal you can get out of it.

Very very little, looks like mostly from wear with no oil change. I wiped everything out and cleaned it up as best as I could. Couldn't find and chips and chunks anywhere...

Have you changed out the cv joints yet? I see you mentioned something about getting the brand new ones. If not, that is probably the source of your clicking while turning.

Got a package from brown santa (okay, well, it was UPS, but still)

A nice big box from Summit with my Rugged Ridge tow hooks and a Procomp 20' strap.

New CV's, new wheel bearings (hubs). The front rapazza shaft does have a tear in the boot though.

Bingo. Or your 249 vc is going out and binding it up when you turn

249 is good, all it needs is a new chain, not slapping but its due. The shaft I had to get from the JY beacuse my other one snapped on me. So would the shaft cause the chatter while turning?

Brought my wheels and tires down to maple tire to get mounted and balanced today, and will be picking them up tomorrow after school. $175 for 5 tires mounted and the main 4 balanced with stuff called Equal inside the tire (no wheel weights), and new valve stems.

And for the record, 5 33's and 5 wheels WILL fit in the back of a zj, even with a huge sub box.

Today I installed the rugged ridge kit that DOESN'T come with the sandwich plates. Should I be concerned, or are there others who have used them without issue?

It's not worth installing them without backing plates, because they won't be nearly as strong as they should be. What I did was I just got some steel strips about 2 inches wide from home depot and cut a few pieces, drilled holes in them and stuck them in the frame rail.

I was thinking a set of washers. I called Summit (who I bought the kit from) and told them I didn't get the washers that the instructions call for. They're supposed to send me a set, so I'm going to wait for that.
