Well the topic asked particularly "today", but this took me all weekend to do by myself...
I had an oil leak at the head gasket. Spent the weekend removing the head, having it machined and reinstalling everything. Replaced all seals (except the main and oilpan) and gaskets and cleaned and painted all non-aluminum surfaces. With the work I replaced the head bolts as is recommended and torqued per specs listed in the Chilton's guide. Relubricated and replaced coolant etc...

Now I have something knocking a slight bit. I think I know where it is: the fan pulley may have gotten tweaked when I was removing it and now it's outta balance.

Anyways...that's what I did this last weekend to my ZJ. (96' Laredo w/I 6 4.0)
I'll try to post some pix soon

1.25 spider trax wheel spacers for 99$ a set? Need two sets. Or 1.5 rough country 60$ a set? It is for 265-65 r16s on my factory snow flakes.

Installed some new plastic for the lift gate door jam, got sick of looking at this beat up one from the PO.

Also replaced this switch on the liftgate flipper glass latch to keep my alarm from going off in the middle of the night.

It's going to he a slow process of building te bumper as I go. Hardest part has been making the mounts as I wanted it to tie into the KOR support, so 6 bolts on each side. I thought about just slapping some 4" tubing angled back to protect the headlights on the side of the winch plate, welding the tubing the the Channel. But I care more about function, so I need to engineer the "ears"/part under headlight of the bumper a little better.

Just a sketch of what it is coming together as.

More pics from sunday. Made it through everything except this beast of a hole. I was told not to try it but couldn't resist...

And yes I'm tying around the axle, I have no tow points. But ended up not being able to get around the front. Buried in clay... Ended up laying in the nice wet mud and pulling from the rear
