Found an e-brake shoe on the driveway this morning!

Yup, shoe just lyin' on the ground. NOT GOOD! Checked the WK, nope. Checked the '07 ZJ, nope. So all left was the '06 ZJ yup! big hole in the bottom of the backing plate.
took wheel & caliper off then the disc. What backing plate? Totally rusted out, no plate, no shoes, springs or adjuster. Made some calls, looks like backpate in NLA. Searching the bay, craigs & forums ... no luck yet.
Any help finding one (RH) would be appreciated ..
Tom

Wow that looks a little worn. So what does an 07 or 06 ZJ look like? I would try to hit up the local pull a parts and junk yards too.

How long did it take you?

OT: drove a 250 mile round trip in the ZJ, took her out on some dirtroads and tested my new Monroe/Tenneco SS in covering up my DW until I get the parts for it. Did a pretty good job.

I definitely need to do the heater core ASAP though.

Just rolled 228,000 today. Going to change the oil and filter this week. Need to do the diffs and trans. Get some freon and a new trans cooler. Next few weeks will be doing that stuff. Then onto the bb and shocks. Tires. Re paint my rims and change the rest of the suspension stuff I have.

Changed my alternator and serpentine belt. 2 hours.

hey I had this same problem and one of the mechanics at work taught me a trick, see attached picture, but once you get the u joint in, take a hammer and hit each spot where there is a red circle, and you will notice that it will loosen up as you keep hitting it.

Thanks. I did a little research and that seems to be the consensus.

Today I installed a Rugged Ridge D30 skid plate. Now, the next time I'm at the Badlands and go through one of their rocky trails, I won't worry quite as much about banging it on a rock.

Started the process of changing my intake plenum gasket today. Found a broken intake manifold bolt, a bad heater hose, and bad vacuum lines. The tips of my injectors were glazed over pretty good too. Tomorrow's another day!

I've taken my dash apart so many times before so I knew where everything was.. But I would say 3 1/2 hours total [not including breaks).. Although I just changed the heater core, didn't do all the coolant flush and all that because I bypassed it a few months back

My sisters '09 grand caravan had a dead battery. So I gave her my 3 week old duralast gold since both are 34 series batteries and bought a yellow top optima.

Yea, this is an '06 ZJ. The plate is (I think) the same from 'o3 to '98. Have made inquries to local junk yards, waiting for replies, most places closed on Sunday. I really didn't need this, just did shocks, exhaust & all fluids ..
