Went to the junk yard today. Got a header panel Ac condenser hood latch and 3rd brake light. Ad a lower rad support. And a few little parts. I swear the one zj was lifted. And I thought the lower arms were longer. Whats oem length in springs in loaded. And arms? So I can measure next time. And next time I go I'm pulling cloth seats and getting all new door panels.
Replaced my front axle CV joints this afternoon. Had to buy a 3/4 ratchet and sockets to get the 3mm nut out after breaking some 1/2 wrenches. Otherwise went good, done in 3 hours for both sides. The driver side CV joint was pretty busted (completely free), it even tore in 2 when i pulled it off. Apparently, the cage broke off, so the balls were free to leave their grooves. Steel bits salad in there. I'll be swapping to 242 t-case soon to save these new cv joints, if anyone has the answer to my question in the appropriate thread
I just go back from 3 days of 4 wheeling around ghost towns, mines and lakes up north with some friends. Yesterday did the trip from Bridgeport to Bodie and half way through we where hit with heavy thunder showers, I hate mud!
Last night stop by a carwash and spent $20 cleaning my jeep, then spent the night at Alabama Hills below Mount Whitney.
This morning went out exploring the area and shot some photos.
Sunrise at camp.
One of the other campsites, with a cave.
Hitting the trails.
C'mon man, when are you gonna get a build thread to keep all your awesomeness in one place?
Oh, also worked on the starter motor yesterday. I had already changed the battery (which died) for an Optima Red Top, but this time the starter got so weak it couldn't start anymore. Solenoid was fine, but the brushes were so worn out that arcs have probably appeared, damaging the contact surface of the brushes. I grinded the brush brackets to allow some more travel before the replacement part comes in. Found brushes for $25 on ebay. For now, the starter sounds like new, but it won't last !
BTW, I'm also waiting for a package of steel to build my roof rack and my steel square front bumper. I'll fit homemade light leds whiwh sound promising. I'll post pics !
Went to change the drive shaft u joints when I got home from work but one of the new joints was missing the clips. I shoulda checked both boxes. Didn't feel like goin back to oreillys tonight so ill do it tomorrow.

Just dragged a log off my brother-in-law's 97 TJ. The hard top took the entire blow. No body damage. Just needs a new hard top. If it was his wife's little Nissan, it would have been totalled. We got 70mph winds and almost 2 inches of rain in an hour.
