I was on rock auto and there is a few different brands but all are 1.7 kwh since you guys know best should I just get the cheapo one or spend a bit more cash on a better one? I'm thinking like 150 with shipping would be the max I can spend.
You might be better off buying one up here.
By the time you pay for the starter, shipping, 12% tax, and brokerage fees, you'll be paying twice what it's worth.
If you have a Lordco up there, they're ok for pricing, and you might check Crappy Tire, that way, if you have a problem with it, it will be a local warrenty issue.
That's what I was worried about we do have a lordco here, however I get a 40 to 50 percent discount at chieftain auto parts but they gwere closed by the time we figured out it was my starter, lordco was 160 I think they said with a core I'm not sure if that ment the core was.included in the price though, thanks for the info though.
So, do you have any friends/relatives living in the lower mainland, or that travel down here fairly regularily?
If so, find a US company that offers a decent price, and free shipping, and have it sent to Sumas, Washington, "Ship Happens", and have them pick it up, pay the 12% tax at the border, and you're good to go.
I ordered some stuff from the US, before I found out about "Ship Happens", and the brokerage fees doubled the cost of my purchase; now it's the only way I go.
Although, if you get a 40-50% discount, up here, you're probably going to be ahead of the game.
I might be able to find somebody that goes down south but FWIW I get paid friday and i can just car pool until then i know chieftan will be cheaper than lordco retail and then my discount Im hoping to get one then. So just get the cheapest one i can find then?
