well, heres the next issue......

for a quick recap, 97 ZJ limited, did F>R swap, then the front coils were binding on the bump stops, took it in for an allignment, was told all the front CA bushings are shot, and need to be replaced....replaced with JKS adj. CA...NO more binding, which is great, but now I have a vibration in the front. Its deffinatelly coming from the front area, and it comes about when speed exceeds about 10 mph. The faster I go the worse it gets, Its not terribly horrible, but its definatelly there. It also seems to vibrate more when Im on the gas, and when I let off of gas, vibration eases off too. It did not do this before I installed the CAs. Could it be the caster/camber angles are off so much that the front axle is at a bad angle and causing vibes in the drive shaft???? FYI, I did have to lengthen the CAs about 3/4" from stock to not have the coils bind.

did you extend all 4, or just lowers? If you just did lowers you did worsen the angle of the driveshaft, hows the pinion angle look?

I did all 4s the same, I mean as close as I cold get them, measuring, and counting the turns, so if there is a difference, its very slight. Though I dont know what the correct angle should look like on the pinion, looking at it, it just doesnt seem right...

Have you had it realigned since replacing the control arms? Shouldn't really be necessary but it's just a thought.

Classic symptom of a misaligned driveshaft is a vibration that is load-dependent - the axle angle changes, getting worse when torque is applied in your case.

Check with a digital protractor like the Angle Master; you want about the same (but not *exactly* the same) angle between the shaft and the transfer case, and between the driveshaft and the axle.

(You don't want exactly the same angles because then you won't get any rotation of the bearings in the universal joints, they'll brinell and pound the bearing needles to powder.)

thanx redbob, I was dreading it being something much worse....I have not gotten an alignment yet, it drives pretty straight, but my steering wheel is tilted over. I need to drive about 15 miles or so to get to a really good jeep shop to do a good allignment, and I wanted to just let them deal with the angles and adjustments... would it be o.k. to drive with this vibe, or will it be a ticking time bomb??
