ehh I think the weld would be stronger anyways. The weld literally fuses the two materials together, while the bolt just holds them together because it cant move too much. With that being said my sliders are bolted on, and claytons is welded

I welded mine on and have had no issues except I forgot to repaint where I ground off the undercoating and now I need to clean off some surface rust.

Bolted on. Never had a problem with them, and I USE them. A lot.

I custom made my sliders. The mounting brackets mounted to the side and bottom of the frame. I used 4'' angle iron for them. I have seen a few that use a backing plate. If I did it again I would do it that way and go straight throught he frame. It would have made my angle measuring easier.

Here they are.



Damage.....came off a rock with the sliders and slid down hill into it. I might make my next sets bump out longer, but who knows. I figure I am always going to hit something....

I have hit mine hard several times, no issues. They are homemade as well.

I go out of my way to abuse my sliders - bolted up and absolutly zero problems
