Weird Problem

Hey all! I'm having a puzzling problem with my jeep. This is my first Jeep, got it over the summer and have loved it, haven't had any issues until recently. Whenever I try to start it up all the power is killed, and does not return unless I unhook and reconnect the battery.

- Before attempting a start if I turn the key to aux I get full power; lights, radio, interior dome, etc.
- It doesn't attempt to turn over
- I replaced the cable that runs from the battery to the starter
- If I unhook and reconnect the battery I get power again

If anyone knows what's going on it will be you guys! Thanks everyone!

It's a Jeep, there are no "weird" problems.....

Aftermarket cable ends? Mine did that the other day, removing the cables from the terminal ends, cleaning the cables and terminal with baking soda and water and a small wire brush and reinstalling fixed it. The cables looked great, but apparently had picked up enough corrosion to shut things down.

Retreat? Hell, we just got here......

X2^

Sometimes you can get a glaze coat on the battery terminals. You can't see it, but it's there.

It's either that, or something else.

Yea sounds like bad connection at battery cable ends. The best ones are the ones that come with the flux tablet that you solder on

I used QuickCable Fusion heavy duty lugs and military terminals, worked great. The lugs came with solder and flux already in them, just torch n go!
