"Wash Level" plug?

Hey JF, I was out trying to replace the rear windshield washer fluid pump and came across a plug that was labeled "WASH LEVEL". have no clue where it goes, couldn't find anything that was missing wires. Does anyone know what this is for??

If I understand what you are talking about, it is for the float in the washer fluid reservoir. It activates a light on the dashboard to let you know when the fluid level is getting low.

There should be a fluid level sensor on the passenger side of the top of your washer fluid reservoir on your 96. Are you sure it doesn't plug into this sensor on the fender side?

I ended up using a U shaped piece of wire connected into both plug terminals to override the light, after my sensor went bad. It's been that way for years now.

I have no such sensor. I guess the previous owner got tired of the light coming on?

Heck, I was just going by the 94-96 parts list when I said to check the sensor connector. I just went out and looked at my 96 4.0 which I have leased/owned from day-one and the reservoir doesn't have a sensor or even a hole for one! LOL, guess we're lucky since my son has a 96 XJ Country and he complains about the light being on all the time when half full!

only has the sensor if you have the digital vic, not the graphic display module that only shows 4wd modes. available as an option in the laredo and standard in the limited.

'97 zj 5.2, some stuff, some other suff, and some things that even work sometimes.
