Want to build a bumper what do you think ?

Well I want to build a bumper for my ZJ and looking everywhere, I don't like the bumpers that have the winch inside, just because that make them so big. So I end with this one, Let me know what do you think !

Looks good, but you might want to relocate those recovery points in more, to be in-line with the mounting points/frame rails.

Looks like you're missing a roller fairlead?

It looks good. But I wold move out that front upper guard a little more to protect the winch like the prerunner bumpers out there, and add the fairlead.

Kruzin...> Well the d-shackle will be exactly on front of the "chassis" mount points.

Jonzj...> Yeah Google Sketchup it's a very easy software and free try it

ArloGuthroJeep...> The fairlead i was kinda tired to make it at the drawing but for sure it will have it !

LaCes out...> Thanks man how did you add them ? I did put the [ i m g ] tag

elmer_fud...>The attaching points will be exactly like the factory tow hooks goes.

GraKee99...> JB Weld it's strong but not enought lol

FortCollinsZJ...> Thanks dude!

footinmouth47...> Good point, I will try to relocate the upper guard to the face of the bumper, and the auxiliary guard let it on top, and connect it to the front guard and lets see how it turns..

Cheers

This is the bumper I drew up a while ago, along with the mounting brackets, wich are about identical to those that came with my Tomken bumper. If you dont already have a plan for mounting brackets, try these.

Those are both great Looking Bumpers... Do you have Several Thousand Dollars worth of tools to fabricate one. Trying to fabricate a heavy gauge steel bumper with some hand tools and a Basic Mig Welder is not going to give you the results you're looking for. I'd reccomend that when you are ready, you should contact a good fabricator and see what they can do for you with your design.

Just because it looks easy to doesn't mean it is.
