Wagoneer NP208 in a ZJ?

Hi, Has anybody used an NP208 fom a fulsize wagoneer on there zj? I have one and was thinking about putting it in. Will it bolt right up to the tranny? Will that drop the front output lower than stock? I have the "all the time 4wd" and I don't know which transfer case is in My 93 ZJ 5.2L. NP242 or -249?

You bring up a good question. The FSJ case would not have a slip yoke so that would require a driveshaft change. I am not sure about if the inputs are 21 or 23 spline though. I may have to do some research.

Does it have the same bolt pattern? It has a 23 spline input. I've heard of people swapping in a 242 for a 231 and others swpping in a 208 in place of a np231. Now the last swap described was done in a wrangler byt shouldn't they all be compatible? I just don't want to drop it and find out the hard way that it's not.

Another question: Does anybody know what tranny was used in my truck??? I read the AW4 was only used in 1993 ZJ I-6. I have a 5.2L "awd". Any ideas?
