vin questions

Why do some people list their ZJ as Limited/Orvis when they aren't an orvis. They have all said that the title says that. Below is the most recent discussion I had with a moron over there on ebay, I can't believe he said I knew nothing about the subject, even when looking at my user name(same as here). I'm thinking the Vin is like that because the Orvis package was on top of the limited and they just called all the limiteds "Limited/Orvis" and I believe it is read "Limited OR Orvis." What do you guys think. Oh yeah to top it off, its a white Jeep, not even Green or That silver/beige some of the orvis editions came in.

Me:
Its not an orvis edition, the title may say orvis on it though CarFax but it is wrong. All orvis edition had custom seats, wheels, badging. In 1996, there were only some 2341 made! So bottom line you are not selling an orvis edition.

Kyle

Him:
Kyle is it? You need to get your facts straight before you start talking about things that clearly, you know nothing about. If you paid attention to the photos, you would obviously have seen the custom electric leather seats with inflating back cushion. You also would have seen the gold, alloy CUSTOM WHEELS! This is all in lew of the fact that it's ON THE TITLE AND TITLE'S ARE ABOUT 99.999999999999999999999% CORRECT DUH?!.?

And Me again:
WOW, thats really funny that you said how little I know about Orvis Editions...My user name is JeepORVIS97 by the way!!!! The title is interpreted wrong by you, it means its a limited OR an Orvis Edition. The Orvis edition was a package on top of the limiteds and the vins are similar. By custom seats I mean tan/Green with a red pipe, the badging on the side of the jeep says Orvis Edition, it has a custom Green/tan Spare tire cover, The pockets in the wheels are Green. YOU DO NOT HAVE AN ORVIS EDITION, and with how little knowledge you have on this topic you should "get your facts straight" before you start posting on ebay! If you still think it is an Orvis edition, check out www.jeeporvis.com it will show you what an Orvis looks like!!!

By the way, he already changed his listing before I even sent that last message back to him.

Yeah, I'm kind of a loser I guess for bothering that poor man(and his assumed knowledge) but I do that to every jeep on there that says Orvis and isn't one.

You know, I've sent emails to several people on eBay for posting their Limiteds as Orvis Editions. A couple of them went without response. The other two thanked me for pointing it out. I guess in this situation he OBVIOUSLY believes he knows more than you. LOL.

don't know the details anymore it was a conversation I had with someone at Chrysler some years back when I was trying to find stats for the site... they only involved the 97 model. I am by no means the quid-essential expert however I did do my home work. I may still have the email I'll look..

I have also seen examples of Orvis's with out the full monty.. the one in my pic did not have the tow group, upcountry susp.. nor the trac lock rear.. the packages were 26L for the I6 28L for the V8

I had a Orvis once. I pulled all the seats out and set them on fire. Oh wait, that was just a dream.
