look to things that come into the loop when you're out of warm up mode.
start by unplugging your o2 sensor and driving around for a while, you'll get a code but it should tell you one thing or another.

Are the shifting points off, delayed, or not at all in the top gears? Rough idling? Won't go when you stomp on it and feels like it's sputtering? Reaching 4000 when stomping on the gas is not part of the diagnostics that count, but the shifting part is. How old is the TPS?

When was the last tiime you changed the fuel filter? I've had issues with clogged fuel filters on several different cars and it sounds similiar to your situation. If that's the case your fuel pump would be working overtime and shortening it's life.

iv recently (within 6 months) changed my tps.....
as for ideling sometimes its smooth as i think itll get and outher times its like its like a pulsing idel
also forgot to add sumtimes when im coming to a stop it will cause my rpms to drop off but they always make there way back up shortly?
and iv got a 98 gc with tells me its in the tank????....iv checked for an external fuel filter but none for me to find?.....also iv read that with an internal filter u cant do nothing about it cuz its part of the fuel pump???
sooo how would it be cleaned?

I have a 99 WJ V-8. I had very similar problems. I did the following: 1) seafoamed it. 2) changed the plugs and (because I had a misfire code after 4 months of problems) changed two coil packs. 3) I had a faulty speed sensor on the transmission. 4) Changed the fuel filter. Seems to be fine now but time will tell...
The speed sensor and coil packs were the real culprits. I threw some other parts at it with no change (TPS, MAP) but they were probably due anyway.
