Vents will not switch. '04 WJ stuck on defrost.

Whenever I turn the knob to switch the vents (from defrost to head and feet, feet, ect.) nothing happens. It just stays on defrost. Hot, cold, AC all work, I just cannot get the vents to put air out though the middle, and it is starting to get hot, so I need that AC blasting!

LOL i just came on here to ask just about the same question. My havoc vents only work for the windshield vent. Switching the vent to the different positions doesn't work. Is it a fuse?

if you don't have the automatic climate control it's a vacuum line that's leaking. the line goes around the firewall to the cruise control and under the batt tray is where it terminates. it can have a leak anywhere along that length and you will loose cruise control and hvac function other than defrost.

'97 zj 5.2, some stuff, some other suff, and some things that even work sometimes.

Ever heard of zipties? Just put one around the hose to tighten it on the stub.

It's not just the '04. Mine had the same thing happen.

Because I felt like it!

My '99 has done it once, but now that I know what it is, never seems to give me a problem.

So if all of mine are connected there....where should I look next? I've followed the lines and they all seem to be fine
