UPDATE on ARB Snorkel for pre-96 ZJ
this is the email i just got from ARB
SS1120HF Snorkel fitment to pre 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0l/5.2L The SS1120HF snorkel is designed to bolt into a 1996-1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicle. This snorkel can be fitted to an earlier model with some additional modifications during the installation. Overview: 1993-1995 model year trucks have the anti lock brake (ABS) controller mounted next to the factory airbox on the inner fenderwell. This conflicts with the routing of the air inlet from the Safari Snorkel SS1120HF kit. Further, the early model vehicles do not have an opening in the fenderwell also used in the Safari kit as the later vehicles do. Fitting the snorkel is possible, but requires relocating the ABS controller and cutting an opening for the inlet plumbing into the inner fenderwell. The following steps show how we have done these modifications (this is only a guide). The only drawback is that the ABS controller has been relocated into an area somewhat more vulnerable which may be a concern for some installers. In that circumstance it may be necessary to lengthen the harness and find a different spot to place the ABS module. We simply found the simplest way to accomplish the installation with the least vehicle modification required. Use your own discretion as ARBUSA will not be responsible for damaged controllers resulting from the relocation. These instructions supplement the Safari instructions and need to be done prior to installing the snorkel body and components. 1. Remove the factory airbox. 2. Unbolt the ABS controller and set the hardware aside, it will be reused later. 3. Route the harness through the hole in the sheet metal directly below the air box mount. 4. Remove the inner fenderwell and set it aside. Removal of the wheel is optional, but makes the job easier. 5. Place the ABS controller against the vertical sheet metal located in front of the wheel and mark the position of the bracket mounting holes. The controller is being remounted behind the inner fenderwell towards the front of the vehicle. 6. Drill the three holes previously marked for the bracket to the appropriate size for the O.E. hardware. 7. Reconnect the harness and mount the ABS controller. 8. Install the airbox adapter supplied in the Safari kit onto the factory airbox per the Safari instructions. 9. Place the airbox assembly, now modified and fitted with the inlet adaptor into its original mounting location. 10. With the airbox in place mark the area of the inner fenderwell using the air filter adapter as a rough guide. 11. Using a holesaw (the size required for the exterior snorkel hole for the fender works fine) drill the necessary hole in the inner fenderwell. Touch up the bare sheet metal with a file and paint as needed to avoid corrosion. 12. Install the remaining Snorkel components per the Safari instructions.

I got mine off of EBay... CSL Off-Road I believe... I had water over the hood over the weekend and was glad I had had it... Not all of us can rock crawl without a stream in sight but some of us need some insurance... Not cheap, around $479 shipped. I believe www.kevinsoffroad.com also has it in stock for a little cheaper. Works fine on a 5.2 with a little fabricating, which I have none of. FYI, anyone need a 5" hole saw let me know, Home Depot won't let me return it

Snorkle
Does anyone have a under the hood pic of a 4.0 with a safari snorkle on it? I am wanting to buy one and want to know how much fab work is needed to get it to fit the 5.2. Also I have been trying to get in touch with the people from Roca Silva but I dont speak that. Anyone else have any luck or have a snorkle for sale email me.
