unusually high oil pressure 95 GC 4.0

oil pressure at normal road speed pushes 80.
the needle is also jerky. seems to be running ok but i am concerned. just changed oil pan gasket if that makes a difference. 95 GC limited 151,000 miles

That's pretty much maxed-out on the gauge. Short term, that shouldn't really create any problems. I suspect you may have a faulty oil pressure sending unit. That's relatively easy/cheap to replace and a good place to start.
