I lower my head rest on the drivers seat and after a few days driving my head rest rises back up by itself. Not all at once but slowly over the course of a few days. Strange. Is my WJ haunted or do others have the same thing happen to them?
My guess is your moving it with your head. You may not realize it, but how often do you reach for your wallet when your in the car...maybe at a drive thru or something.
What do you do?
You tilt your head to the back and slightly to the side, and lift up your butt cheek which raises your sholders and most of the pressure is on the back of the head which raises your headrest slightly up, next time your in your jeep, try it.
I'm sure there are other movements that are similar, but bottom line is your doing it.

I suggest adding weights to the back of your head rest.
I too had this problem and found out that the reason the head rest kept sliding up, was because the seat back was actually shrinking. Of course this happened over 4 years or so (between 16 and 20)...might have had to do something with the fact I was growing, not really sure though.
Point being is that those pesky Germans added midgets to the seat backs to screw with ya
